Guidelines: Pathlight

This group is led by a group of Pathlight Alumni who are willing to share their experiences and insights about Pathlight school. Hence, this group is useful for parents whose kids are current Pathlight students as well as parents considering whether to send their kids to Pathlight or to Mainstream Schools.

Guidelines for staying on topic:

1) The topic and/or context should be about Pathlight School. Discussions about other special needs schools are irrelevant unless linked to Pathlight School.

2) The topic should be based on scenarios that can be encountered in the real world. Topics about imaginary scenarios and magical worlds are not relevant.

3) The topic should be confined to non-political matters. Specifically, topics about the political affiliations of the people running or connected to Pathlight School will be considered irrelevant. We have no interest to get involved in politics; those who are keen can create a politics interest group for this discussion.

4) Given that the purpose of going to Pathlight School is to provide employment options for autistics, topics related to employment and well-being of Pathlight graduates will be considered relevant. For discussing employment of other autistic adults, please raise the topic on the Employment group instead.

If you must really mention something irrelevant that is connected to a relevant topic currently under discussion, then remember to end it within three mentions.

Participants are welcome to share their experiences when it is relevant to do so. As there are many people who have shared about their autism experiences already, participants are advised to focus on depth, quality, and uniqueness. Share something that you don’t usually hear from other works on autism or something that gives a twist to the ordinary.

Do note the rules about keeping the group spam-free. If you must share a long essay or article, please upload it on a blog, website, Google Drive or other online services first, then share the link for us to read at our leisure.
